TikTok is a short video platform highly favored by Generation Z, encouraging constant online activity. This study aims to examine the influence of TikTok usage on the social interaction of Generation Z, specifically in the Medan Petisah District. The research applies the Stimulus–Organism–Response (S-O-R) theory to analyze how the stimulus from TikTok usage affects individual responses in the form of social interaction. A quantitative method with a survey approach was used, involving 259 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected via questionnaires and analyzed using simple linear regression and t-test. The findings reveal that TikTok usage has a significant influence on social interaction, with a contribution of 53.4%. The higher the intensity of TikTok usage, the lower the level of direct social interaction. This study highlights that social media platforms like TikTok not only affect digital communication but also have real impacts on the social behavior of adolescents. | en_US |
