Abstract: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami dan mendeskripsikan peran komunikasi intrapersonal dalam pembentukan identitas dan pengambilan keputusan karir mahasiswa, khususnya di Universitas Medan Area. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik wawancara mendalam kepada lima mahasiswa ilmu komunikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi intrapersonal berperan penting dalam mengatasi krisis identitas, meningkatkan kepercayaan diri, dan membangun konsep diri positif. Strategi yang umum digunakan meliputi menulis jurnal, visualisasi, refleksi, dan afirmasi positif, yang membantu mahasiswa mengenal potensi diri dan menegoisasikan keraguan. Studi ini merekomendasikan perlunya peningkatan literasi diri dan pengembangan program pengembangan diri di perguruan tinggi untuk mendukung mahasiswa dalam menghadapi tantangan masa depan. This study aims to understand and describe the role of intrapersonal communication in the formation of identity and career decision-making among students, particularly at the University of Medan Area. The method used is a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews with five communication science students. The results of the study indicate that intrapersonal communication plays a crucial role in addressing identity crises, boosting self-confidence, and fostering a positive self-concept. Commonly used strategies include journaling, visualization, reflection, and positive affirmations, which help students recognize their potential and negotiate doubts. This study recommends the need to enhance self-literacy and develop selfdevelopment programs in higher education institutions to support students in facing future challenges.
