Aceh The design of the Oceanarium in Serdang Bedagai with a metaphorical architectural approach is intended to create an educational tourism facility that introduces marine wealth while fostering environmental awareness. Serdang Bedagai has great marine potential, yet there is still no specific facility that integrates recreation, education, and conservation functions within one area. The metaphor of a turtle was chosen as the design concept, as turtles symbolize marine sustainability, resilience, and their close connection to coastal life. The turtle form is expressed in the building design to provide the Oceanarium with a strong identity, making it easily recognizable and a potential new tourism icon for the region. The development of supporting facilities and improved accessibility is required to ensure that the Oceanarium is easily reachable and offers optimal comfort for visitors. Furthermore, the Oceanarium is expected to strengthen the image of Serdang Bedagai’s marine tourism by combining recreation, education, and conservation functions, thereby creating positive impacts for the community and enhancing the region’s tourism appeal.en_US
