Medan City, as the capital of North Sumatra Province, directly borders Deli Serdang Regency, both of which play a strategic role in regional development. The population growth in these two areas has increased the demand for recreational spaces and public interaction areas. The border area between Medan Tembung District (Medan City) and Percut Sei Tuan District (Deli Serdang Regency) faces limited recreational facilities, particularly in Percut Sei Tuan, which has only three tourist destinations. This condition highlights the need for the development of public spaces that can accommodate community interaction, recreation, and social activities. The Pancing–Cemara Street Walk is proposed as a solution, integrating pedestrian pathways, commercial areas, food courts, plazas, green open spaces, and recreational facilities into one cohesive area. The design applies a contextual architecture approach that aligns with the physical, social, and cultural character of the surrounding environment, creating harmony between new developments and the existing context. The site is strategically located near densely populated residential areas and has direct access to toll roads. The design also considers circulation connectivity and accessibility to ensure a pedestrian-friendly environment and support sustainable mobility. The outcome is expected to deliver a high-quality Street Walk with a strong local identity, fulfilling the interaction and recreational needs of communities in the border area between Medan City and Deli Serdang Regency.en_US
