The development of the Internet of Things (IoT) in agriculture presents challenges in selecting energy sources that are both efficient and reliable. Batteries, as portable power sources, play a crucial role in implementing IoT devices in agricultural settings, which are often remote and lack electrical infrastructure. This study aims to analyze and compare the power performance of Lithium-Ion and Lithium-LifePO4 batteries as DC power sources for agricultural IoT devices. The research method involves experimental testing of both battery types over a 24-hour period with hourly measurement intervals. Parameters measured include voltage and current using the INA219 sensor. A comparative analysis was conducted to evaluate voltage stability, current consistency, energy efficiency, and durability of the two battery types. The results show that the Lithium-LifePO4 battery has significant advantages in terms of voltage stability and current consistency during the testing period. This battery maintained a voltage range between 3.0 V and 3.6369 V, and a current between 89.9538 mA and 91 mA during the first 15 hours. In contrast, the Lithium-Ion battery showed a notable performance drop after the transition phase, with a sharp decline in voltage and current after 15–20 hours of use. Additionally, testing after the step-down process indicated that the battery could still supply adequate power for approximately the first 15 hours, followed by a significant drop in voltage and current parameters. In conclusion, the Lithium- LifePO4 battery is more suitable for agricultural IoT applications that require long-term operation and high reliability. This research is expected to contribute to the optimal selection of power sources for agricultural IoT devices, promoting efficiency and sustainability in the implementation of smart farming technologies.en_US
