This study aims to analyze the heatsink design fabricated from melted Aluminum 3009 using alternative fuel in the form of used oil. Aluminum 3009 was chosen for its excellent thermal properties and ease of casting. Used oil was utilized as a thermal energy source to support the principles of energy recycling and hazardous waste reduction. The melting process was carried out in a simple homemade furnace, and the molten metal was cast into heatsinks with various fin designs to evaluate thermal performance. The evaluation focused on cooling efficiency, thermal conductivity, and the microstructural quality of the cast product. The results indicate that the heatsinks produced from the melting process exhibit competitive thermal performance compared to commercial products, particularly with vertical fin designs. The use of used oil as a melting fuel proved to be both economical and environmentally friendly, although stricter emission and temperature controls are needed to prevent casting defects. This research contributes to the development of recycled-based electronic components through a sustainable approach.en_US
