Teachers play a central role in determining the quality of learning, especially in Elementary Schools. The success of learning is not only determined by pedagogical and professional skills, but also by the teacher's work engagement in their job in order to be able to provide optimal contributions to the educational institution. This research was conducted on 182 teachers by distributing 3 psychological instruments: work engagement scale, psychological well-being scale, and work ethic scale. The data were analyzed through SEM or Structural Equation Modelling operated through the Partial Least Square (PLS) method. The results of the study showed that there is an effect of psychological well-being on teachers' work ethic, based on a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05 and a t-count of 22.86 > 1.96, with an effect size of 0.735 (73.5%). There is an influence of work ethic on job engagement among teachers, based on a p-value of 0.035 < 0.05 and a t-value of 2.11 > 1.96, with an effect size of 0.162 (16.2%). There is an influence of psychological well-being on job engagement among teachers, based on a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05 and a t-value of 6.74 > 1.96, with an effect size of 0.503 (50.3%). There is a mediating role of work ethic on the influence of psychological well-being on job engagement among teachers, as evidenced by a Sobel Test statistic of 2.095 > 1.96 and a two-tailed probability value of 0.03 < 0.05. |
