This study aims to determine the influence of primary production factors on production, production efficiency, and the influence of supporting production factors on production efficiency in smallholder oil palm plantations. The study location was purposively selected, and the sampling method was multistage, with 450 samples. Data analysis used multiple nonlinear regression, data envelopment analysis, and censored Tobit regression. The results showed that primary production factors simultaneously had a significant effect on production, with a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.9760 and a rate of technical substitution (RTS) of 0.9640. The partial influence of primary production factors on smallholder oil palm plantation production showed that land had a significant positive effect, labour and fertiliser had no significant effects, and pesticides had a significant adverse effect. Most smallholder oil palm plantations are technically, economically, and allocatively inefficient, with average values of 0.8741, 0.7544, and 0.8610, respectively. Supporting production factors that significantly influence technical efficiency include gender, age, farmer organisation, use of information and technology facilities, farming experience, family size, seed category, and distance to input markets. Supporting production factors that significantly influence economic efficiency include gender, age, education, farmer organisation, use of information and technology facilities, farming experience, family size, and seed category. Supporting production factors that significantly influence allocative efficiency include gender, age, education, distance to input markets, farmer organisation, farming experience, family size, seed category, number of plants, organic fertiliser application, and use of information and technology facilities.
