| dc.description.abstract | Sifat fisika tanah adalah sifat-sifat tanah yang berhubungan dengan kesuburan tanah dan mempengaruhi pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan karakteristik sifat fisika tanah pada lahan budidaya nanas (Ananas comosus (L.) Merr.) di Desa Sabungan Ni Huta IV, Kecamatan Sipahutar, Kabupaten Tapanuli Utara. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan November 2025 hingga Januari 2026 dengan metode survei. Pengambilan sampel tanah dilakukan secara purposive random sampling pada tiga kelas kemiringan lereng, yaitu 0–8%, 9–12%, dan 15–20%, pada kedalaman 0–20 cm dan 20–40 cm. Parameter yang diamati meliputi tekstur tanah, struktur tanah, berat isi, berat jenis, porositas, kemantapan agregat, kadar air, warna tanah, serta karakteristik perakaran tanaman nanas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tekstur tanah pada lahan budidaya nanas didominasi oleh kelas pasir (sand), pasir berlempung (loamy sand), dan lempung berpasir (sandy loam). Struktur tanah pada lapisan atas umumnya berbentuk granular, sedangkan pada lapisan bawah cenderung berbentuk gumpal (blocky), terutama pada lereng yang lebih curam. Nilai berat isi tanah relatif meningkat seiring bertambahnya kemiringan lereng, sedangkan porositas dan kadar air menunjukkan kecenderungan menurun. Kondisi tersebut berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan akar tanaman nanas, di mana panjang dan bobot akar lebih baik ditemukan pada lahan dengan kemiringan rendah dan kondisi fisika tanah yang lebih gembur. Soil physical properties are soil properties related to soil fertility and affect plant growth and production. This study aims to describe the characteristics of soil physical properties in pineapple (Ananas comosus (L.) Merr.) cultivation land in Sabungan Ni Huta IV Village, Sipahutar District, North Tapanuli Regency. The study was conducted from November 2025 to January 2026 using a survey method. Soil sampling was carried out by purposive random sampling on three slope classes, namely 0–8%, 9–12%, and 15–20%, at a depth of 0–20 cm and 20–40 cm. The parameters observed included soil texture, soil structure, bulk density, specific gravity, porosity, aggregate stability, water content, soil color, and pineapple plant root characteristics. The results showed that soil texture in pineapple cultivation land was dominated by sand, loamy sand, and sandy loam. The topsoil structure is generally granular, while the lower layers tend to be blocky, especially on steeper slopes. The relative bulk density of the soil increases with increasing slope, while porosity and water content tend to decrease. These conditions influence pineapple root growth, with better root length and weight found on land with lower slopes and looser soil physical conditions. | en_US |
