Abstract: Perancangan kawasan wisata mata air Bah Tio di Pematang Silampuyang, Kecamatan Siantar, Kabupaten Simalungun, Sumatera Utara dilatarbelakangi oleh potensi alam kawasan yang besar namun belum dikelola secara optimal. Kawasan ini memiliki sumber mata air alami yang jernih, topografi perbukitan, serta lingkungan alami yang berpotensi menjadi destinasi wisata berbasis alam. Akan tetapi, keterbatasan fasilitas, aksesibilitas yang kurang memadai, serta belum adanya pengelolaan kawasan yang berkelanjutan menyebabkan potensi wisata Bah Tio belum berkembang secara maksimal. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan perancangan kawasan wisata yang mampu meningkatkan kualitas ruang dan pengalaman wisata dengan tetap memperhatikan kondisi alam dan karakteristik tapak. Perancangan ini menggunakan pendekatan arsitek Frank Lloyd Wright yang menekankan hubungan harmonis antara bangunan dan alam. Prinsip yang diterapkan meliputi integrasi bangunan dengan lingkungan, penggunaan material alami, keterbukaan ruang, orientasi terhadap cahaya dan angin alami, serta penyesuaian desain terhadap kontur tapak. Metode yang digunakan meliputi pengumpulan data, studi literatur, studi banding, serta analisis tapak dan kebutuhan ruang. Hasil perancangan menghasilkan kawasan wisata yang rekreatif, edukatif, dan berkelanjutan dengan fasilitas yang mendukung kenyamanan pengunjung serta menyatu dengan lingkungan alam sekitar. The design of the Bah Tio spring water tourism area in Pematang Silampuyang, Siantar District, Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra, is motivated by the area’s significant natural potential, which has not been optimally developed. The site possesses clear natural spring water, hilly topography, and a natural environment with strong potential as a nature-based tourism destination. However, limited facilities, inadequate accessibility, and the absence of sustainable area management have hindered the optimal development of Bah Tio tourism. Therefore, a tourism area design is required to improve spatial quality and visitor experience while considering the natural conditions and characteristics of the site. This design applies the architectural approach of Frank Lloyd Wright, which emphasizes a harmonious relationship between architecture and nature. The applied principles include the integration of buildings with the environment, the use of natural materials, open spatial concepts, orientation toward natural lighting and ventilation, and adaptation of the design to the site’s contours. The methods used include data collection, literature studies, comparative studies, and site and spatial requirement analyses. The design result is a recreational, educational, and sustainable tourism area equipped with facilities that support visitor comfort while integrating with the surrounding natural environment.
