This study aims to examine the relationship between sense of belonging and employee engagement among employees of the Human Resources Bureau of the North Sumatra Regional Police. Sense of belonging is defined as an individual’s feeling of ownership and attachment to the organization, whereas employee engagement refers to employees’ emotional, cognitive, and behavioral involvement in their work. This study employed a quantitative method with a correlational approach involving all employees of the HR Bureau of the North Sumatra Regional Police through a specified sampling technique. The instruments used were the Sense of Belonging Instrument (SOBI-P) developed by Hagerty and Patusky and the Gallup Q12 Employee Engagement Survey. Data were analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment correlation test. The results revealed a strong and significant positive relationship between sense of belonging and employee engagement (r = 0.761; p < 0.001), with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.579, indicating that 57.9% of the variance in employee engagement is explained by employees’ level of sense of belonging to the organization. These findings indicate that higher sense of belonging is associated with higher employee engagement at work.en_US
