| dc.description.abstract | Kopi (Coffea spp.) merupakan salah satu komoditas perkebunan unggulan Indonesia yang memiliki nilai ekonomi tinggi. Menurunnya produktivitas dan mutu kopi diakibatkan oleh serangan hama utama yaitu PBKo (Hypothenemus hampei). Pola tanam merupakan salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi terhadap populasi dan tingkat kerusakan akibat serangan PBKo. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pola tanam monokultur dan polikultur terhadap populasi serta tingkat kerusakan PBKo pada tanaman kopi di Kecamatan Lintong Nihuta. Penelitian mengunakan metode eksploratif pada dua lokasi, yaitu Desa Siponjot sebagai representasi pola tanam monokultur dan Desa Tapian Nauli sebagai representasi pola tanam polikultur. Parameter yang diamati meliputi populasi PBKo per perangkap dan per buah, persentase serangan, serta intensitas kerusakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pola tanam polikultur memiliki populasi PBKo yang lebih rendah dibandingkan pola tanam monokultur Pada pola tanam polikultur populasi PBKo perperangkap dan perbuah, serta persentase dan intensitas serangan yaitu, secara berturut-turut, 15,27 ekor/perangkap/malam, 4,49 ekor/buah kopi, dengan persentase serangan 16,05% dan intensitas kerusakan 26,31%. Sedangkan pada pola tanam monokultur yaitu, secara berturut-turut, 24,01 ekor/perangkap/malam, 5,45 ekor/buah kopi, dengan persentase serangan 24,61% dan intensitas kerusakan 35,94%. Meskipun kedua pola tanam menunjukkan kategori kerusakan yang sama yaitu kategori sedang, namun data menunjukkan pola tanam polikultur mampu menekan persentase serangan dan intensitas kerusakan masing-masingnya 34,78% dan 26,79%, dibandingkan pola tanam monokultur. Oleh karena itu, pola tanam polikultur direkomendasikan sebagai salah satu strategi budidaya untuk mengurangi dampak serangan PBKo pada tanaman kopi. Coffee (Coffea spp.) is one of Indonesia’s leading plantation commodities with high economic value. Declining coffee productivity and quality are largely caused by attacks of the Coffee Berry Borer (CBB), Hypothenemus hampei, which is the major pest of coffee plants. Cropping pattern is one of the factors influencing CBB population dynamics and the level of damage it causes. This study aimed to analyze the effects of monoculture and polyculture cropping patterns on the population and damage intensity of CBB in coffee plantations in Lintong Nihuta District. The research employed an exploratory method conducted at two locations: Siponjot Village representing the monoculture cropping pattern and Tapian Nauli Village representing the polyculture cropping pattern. Observed parameters included CBB population per trap and per coffee berry, infestation percentage, and damage intensity. The results showed that the polyculture cropping pattern had a lower CBB population compared to the monoculture cropping pattern. Under the polyculture system, CBB population per trap and per coffee berry, infestation percentage, and damage intensity were respectively 15.27 individuals per trap per night, 4.49 individuals per coffee berry, 16.05%, and 26.31%. In contrast, the monoculture system recorded 24.01 individuals per trap per night, 5.45 individuals per coffee berry, an infestation percentage of 24.61%, and a damage intensity of 35.94%. Although both cropping patterns showed a moderate damage category, the polyculture system was able to reduce infestation percentage and damage intensity by 34.78% and 26.79%, respectively, compared to the monoculture system. Therefore, the polyculture cropping pattern is recommended as a cultivation strategy to reduce the impact of CBB infestation on coffee plants. | en_US |
