This study analyzes interpersonal communication and behavioral changes in the main characters in the film Lilo & Stitch (2025) using Roland Barthes's semiotic approach. The primary objective is to understand how the interaction between Lilo and Stitch triggers behavioral changes through layers of meaning: denotation, connotation, and myth. The descriptive qualitative research method involved film observation, documentation, interviews, and literature review, validated through source triangulation. Through 21 scenes analyzed using Roland Barthes's semiotic analysis, this study found that the main characters' behavioral changes can be understood through three levels of meaning: denotation, connotation, and myth. The interaction between Lilo and Stitch is depicted as a gradual and ongoing communication process. The results indicate that interpersonal communication plays a significant role in shaping the main characters' behavioral changes in the film Lilo & Stitch (2025). Acceptance, caring, and emotional openness are key elements in building positive interpersonal relationships. Visual and narrative symbols represent the value of family (ohana) as a myth for positive change |
