This study aims to identify factors that influence discipline among teenagers at UISU Private High School in Medan. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach. A total of 125 adolescents consisting of grade XI IPA IPS and XII IPA IPS were sampled using the total sampling method. A 4-point Likert scale was used, which was compiled based on the theory of Kurniawan & Agustang (2021), covering internal factors (personal character, student understanding) and external factors (friendship, technological advances, style influence, and environment). The results showed that environmental factors contributed the most to adolescent discipline problems at 24%, followed by friendship factors at 22%, personal character at 20%, style influence at 15%, student understanding at 10%, and technological advances at 9%. The factor with the least influence on adolescent discipline problems was technological advances at 8.18% or 9%. These findings confirm that adolescent discipline problems are influenced by more dominant external factors, particularly the family and school environments. |
