Pengaruh Fatherless terhadap Self Esteem Siswa Kelas XI SMA Swasta Nurul Amaliyah Tanjung Morawa

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas kondisi fatherless yang dialami oleh siswa serta pengaruhnya terhadap self-esteem. Fatherless merupakan kondisi kurangnya peran ayah dalam kehidupan anak, baik secara fisik maupun psikologis, yang dapat berdampak pada perkembangan kepribadian remaja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh fatherless terhadap self-esteem pada siswa kelas XI SMA Swasta Nurul Amaliyah Tanjung Morawa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode regresi linier sederhana. Data diperoleh dari 57 siswa melalui pengisian skala fatherless dan skala self-esteem yang telah memenuhi uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan program SPSS versi 27 for Windows, yang diawali dengan uji asumsi berupa uji normalitas dan uji linearitas. Hasil analisis regresi linear sederhana menunjukkan persamaan regresi Y = 56,714 – 0,233X, yang berarti terdapat pengaruh negatif fatherless terhadap self-esteem. Nilai koefisien determinasi (R²) sebesar 0,507 menunjukkan bahwa fatherless memberikan sumbangan sebesar 50,7% terhadap self-esteem, sedangkan sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain di luar penelitian. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa fatherless berpengaruh negatif terhadap self-esteem pada siswa kelas XI SMA Swasta Nurul Amaliyah Tanjung Morawa, dimana semakin tinggi tingkat fatherless, maka semakin rendah Self-esteem siswa. Fatherlessness refers to the lack of a father’s role in a child’s life, both physically and psychologically, which may impact adolescents’ personality development. This study aims to determine the effect of fatherlessness on self-esteem among eleventh-grade students at SMA Swasta Nurul Amaliyah Tanjung Morawa. This research employed a quantitative approach using a simple linear regression method. Data were collected from 57 students through fatherlessness and self-esteem scales that had met validity and reliability requirements. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 27 for Windows, preceded by assumption tests including normality and linearity tests. The results of the simple linear regression analysis showed the regression equation Y = 56.714 – 0.233X, indicating a negative effect of fatherlessness on self-esteem. The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.507, which means that fatherlessness contributed 50.7% to self-esteem, while the remaining variance was influenced by other factors outside this study. Thus, it can be concluded that fatherlessness has a negative effect on self-esteem among eleventh-grade students at SMA Swasta Nurul Amaliyah Tanjung Morawa, where higher levels of fatherlessness are associated with lower levels of self-esteem.
