Abstract: Perceraian orang tua merupakan peristiwa keluarga yang tidak hanya berdampak pada pasangan suami istri, tetapi juga berpengaruh besar terhadap kehidupan anak, khususnya dalam aspek komunikasi interpersonal dengan ayah kandung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami dan mendeskripsikan pengalaman komunikasi interpersonal anak kepada ayah pasca perceraian, proses konstruksi ulang komunikasi tersebut, serta bagaimana anak memaknai hubungan komunikasinya dengan ayah setelah perceraian. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini meliputi: (1) bagaimana pengalaman komunikasi interpersonal anak dan ayah pasca perceraian, (2) bagaimana perubahan pola komunikasi verbal dan nonverbal yang terjadi, serta (3) bagaimana konsep diri anak terbentuk dalam proses komunikasi tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologi. Informan penelitian terdiri dari enam anak perempuan berusia 17–21 tahun yang mengalami perceraian orang tua dan tinggal bersama ibu kandung di Kelurahan Pangkalan Mansyur, Kecamatan Medan Johor. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi, dengan analisis data menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman serta triangulasi data. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kualitas komunikasi interpersonal anak dan ayah pasca perceraian sangat dipengaruhi oleh pengalaman emosional, pola komunikasi sebelum perceraian, serta upaya kedua belah pihak dalam mempertahankan hubungan. Parental divorce is a family event that not only affects married couples but also has a significant impact on children‟s lives, particularly in terms of interpersonal communication with their biological fathers. This study aims to understand and describe children‟s experiences of interpersonal communication with their fathers after divorce, the process of reconstructing such communication, and how children interpret their communication relationships with their fathers following the divorce. The research problems focus on: (1) how children experience interpersonal communication with their fathers after divorce, (2) how changes occur in verbal and nonverbal communication patterns, and (3) how children‟s self-concept is formed through the communication process. This study employs a qualitative approach using a phenomenological method. The informants consisted of six female children aged 17–21 who experienced parental divorce and lived with their biological mothers in Pangkalan Mansyur Village, Medan Johor District. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model supported by data triangulation. The conclusion of this study shows that the quality of interpersonal communication between children and fathers after divorce is strongly influenced by emotional experiences, pre-divorce communication patterns, and the efforts of both parties to maintain the relationship.
