| dc.description.abstract | Tanaman terung ungu (Solanum melongena L) merupakan salah satu komoditas hortikultura penting yang banyak dibudidayakan di Indonesia karena memiliki kandungan gizi, antioksidan, dan manfaat kesehatan yang tinggi. Produktivitas terung ungu di Indonesia pada tahun 2023 mencapai 14,15 ton/ha, namun hasil tersebut masih belum optimal sehingga diperlukan upaya peningkatan kesuburan tanah melalui pemanfaatan pupuk organik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pupuk kotoran kambing dan pupuk organik cair (POC) kulit nanas, baik secara tunggal maupun kombinasi, terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman terung ungu varietas Yuvita F1. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Medan Area menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial 4 × 4 dengan dua ulangan. Faktor pertama yaitu dosis pupuk kotoran kambing terdiri atas P0 = 0 kg/plot, P1 = 5 kg/plot, P2 = 7 kg/plot, dan P3 = 9 kg/plot. Faktor kedua yaitu dosis POC kulit nanas terdiri atas R0 = 0 ml/plot, R1 = 200 ml/plot, R2 = 400 ml/plot, dan R3 = 600 ml/plot. Parameter yang diamati meliputi tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, diameter buah, panjang buah, berat buah per sampel, dan produksi buah per plot. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis sidik ragam (ANOVA) dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) pada taraf 5% dan 1%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pupuk kotoran kambing berpengaruh nyata hingga sangat nyata terhadap pertumbuhan vegetatif tanaman, terutama pada parameter tinggi tanaman dan diameter batang. Perlakuan terbaik diperoleh pada P3 dengan tinggi tanaman mencapai 50,34 cm dan diameter batang 19,94 mm pada umur 8 MST. Sebaliknya, pemberian POC kulit nanas tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap seluruh parameter pertumbuhan maupun produksi tanaman, serta tidak menunjukkan interaksi nyata dengan pupuk kotoran kambing. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa dosis POC kulit nanas yang digunakan belum mampu meningkatkan ketersediaan unsur hara secara optimal, atau lebih berperan dalam memperbaiki sifat tanah dibandingkan memacu pertumbuhan morfologis tanaman dalam jangka pendek. Secara keseluruhan, pupuk kotoran kambing merupakan perlakuan yang paling efektif dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman terung ungu, sedangkan POC kulit nanas belum memberikan pengaruh signifikan baik secara tunggal maupun kombinasi. Purple eggplant Solanum melongena L. is one of the important horticultural commodities widely cultivated in Indonesia due to its high nutritional value, antioxidant content, and health benefits. In 2023, the productivity of purple eggplant in Indonesia reached 14.15 tons/ha; however, this yield is still considered suboptimal, thus requiring efforts to improve soil fertility through the application of organic fertilizers. This study aimed to determine the effects of goat manure and pineapple peel liquid organic fertilizer (LOF), applied either individually or in combination, on the growth and yield of Yuvita F1 purple eggplant. The research was conducted at the Experimental Farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Medan Area, using a 4 × 4 factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with two replications. The first factor was the dosage of goat manure consisting of P0 = 0 kg/plot, P1 = 5 kg/plot, P2 = 7 kg/plot, and P3 = 9 kg/plot. The second factor was the dosage of pineapple peel LOF consisting of R0 = 0 ml/plot, R1 = 200 ml/plot, R2 = 400 ml/plot, and R3 = 600 ml/plot. Observed parameters included plant height, stem diameter, fruit diameter, fruit length, fruit weight per sample, and fruit yield per plot. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at the 5% and 1% significance levels. The results showed that goat manure application had significant to highly significant effects on the vegetative growth of purple eggplant, particularly on plant height and stem diameter. The best treatment was obtained from P3, which produced plant height of 50.34 cm and stem diameter of 19.94 mm at 8 weeks after planting. In contrast, pineapple peel LOF did not significantly affect any growth or yield parameters, and no significant interaction between goat manure and pineapple peel LOF was observed. These findings indicate that the applied dosage of pineapple peel LOF was not sufficient to increase nutrient availability optimally, or that the LOF may play a greater role in improving soil properties rather than stimulating short-term morphological plant growth. Overall, goat manure was the most effective treatment in enhancing the growth of purple eggplant, whereas pineapple peel LOF did not provide significant effects either individually or in combination | en_US |
