| dc.description.abstract | Penggunaan plastik dalam produk sekali pakai seperti sendok plastik terus meningkat seiring perkembangan industri manufaktur. Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) merupakan material termoplastik yang memiliki kekuatan dan ketahanan mekanik yang baik sehingga berpotensi digunakan sebagai bahan campuran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh variasi campuran ABS terhadap sifat mekanik sendok plastik yang diproduksi menggunakan mesin injection molding vertikal. Variasi material yang digunakan meliputi ABS murni, campuran ABS–polypropylene (PP) dengan beberapa perbandingan, serta PP murni. Proses pencetakan dilakukan dengan parameter mesin yang sama untuk seluruh spesimen. Pengujian mekanik dilakukan menggunakan metode uji lentur tiga titik (three-point bending) sesuai standar ASTM D790. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variasi campuran ABS berpengaruh signifikan terhadap nilai tegangan lentur, regangan lentur, dan kelenturan produk. Campuran ABS tertentu menghasilkan keseimbangan optimal antara kekuatan dan fleksibilitas sendok plastik. The use of plastic in disposable products such as plastic spoons continues to increase along with industrial development. Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) is a thermoplastic material with good mechanical strength and durability, making it suitable as a blending material. This study aims to analyze the effect of ABS composition variations on the mechanical properties of plastic spoons produced using a vertical injection molding machine. The materials used include pure ABS, ABS–polypropylene (PP) blends with various ratios, and pure PP. All specimens were molded using the same processing parameters. Mechanical testing was conducted using a three-point bending test based on ASTM D790 standards. The results indicate that ABS composition variations significantly affect flexural stress, flexural strain, and material flexibility. Certain ABS blends provide an optimal balance between strength and flexibility of the plastic spoon. | en_US |
