| dc.description.abstract | Bawang merah (Allium ascalonicum L.) merupakan komoditas hortikultura penting yang memiliki nilai ekonomi tinggi dan banyak dimanfaatkan dalam sektor pangan. Perbanyakan secara konvensional masih menghadapi berbagai kendala, seperti keterbatasan bibit unggul, serangan patogen, serta ketergantungan terhadap musim tanam. Kultur jaringan menjadi salah satu alternatif untuk menghasilkan bibit tanaman dalam jumlah besar, seragam, dan bebas penyakit. Keberhasilan teknik ini sangat dipengaruhi oleh penggunaan zat pengatur tumbuh (ZPT), khususnya auksin dan sitokinin yang berperan dalam mengatur diferensiasi dan pembelahan sel. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mensintesis peran NAA (Naphthalene Acetic Acid) dan BAP (6-Benzylaminopurine) dalam proses induksi dan proliferasi kalus bawang merah secara in vitro berdasarkan berbagai hasil penelitian yang dipublikasikan pada periode 2010–2024. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa NAA berperan dalam merangsang dediferensiasi sel dan inisiasi kalus, sedangkan BAP meningkatkan aktivitas pembelahan sel dan proliferasi jaringan. Kombinasi NAA dan BAP pada konsentrasi yang seimbang mampu meningkatkan respon morfogenetik eksplan serta menghasilkan pertumbuhan kalus yang lebih optimal, yang berimplikasi pada peningkatan efisiensi teknik perbanyakan tanaman secara in vitro. Shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) is an important horticultural commodity with high economic value and extensive utilization in the food sector. However, conventional propagation methods still face several limitations, including the limited availability of high-quality planting materials, susceptibility to pathogen infections, and dependence on seasonal planting conditions. Plant tissue culture has therefore emerged as a promising alternative for producing large quantities of uniform and disease-free planting materials. The success of this technique is strongly influenced by the application of plant growth regulators (PGRs), particularly auxins and cytokinins, which play essential roles in regulating cell differentiation and division. This review aims to analyze and synthesize the roles of NAA (Naphthalene Acetic Acid) and BAP (6-Benzylaminopurine) in the induction and proliferation of shallot callus in vitro based on previously published studies from 2010 to 2024. The reviewed literature indicates that NAA plays a key role in stimulating cell dedifferentiation and callus initiation, whereas BAP enhances cell division activity and tissue proliferation. A balanced combination of NAA and BAP has been reported to improve the morphogenetic response of explants and promote more optimal callus growth, thereby contributing to improved efficiency of in vitro plant propagation techniques. | en_US |
