| Abstract: | Perkembangan teknologi manufaktur menuntut peningkatan efisiensi, produktivitas, dan kualitas produk pada berbagai proses industri, salah satunya proses ekstrusi. Kinerja mesin ekstruder sangat dipengaruhi oleh desain geometri screw yang berfungsi mengatur aliran, tekanan, serta proses pengangkutan material dari hopper menuju barrel hingga die. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh geometri screw Double Screw terhadap proses pengumpanan bahan baku pada mesin ekstruder serta memberikan rekomendasi desain screw yang mampu meningkatkan efisiensi proses. Metode penelitian dilakukan melalui analisis parameter geometri screw yang meliputi diameter luar screw (Do), diameter dalam screw (Di), pitch screw (P), sudut heliks (β), dan panjang zona pengumpanan terhadap kapasitas pengumpanan, stabilitas aliran material, serta efisiensi proses ekstrusi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa geometri screw Double Screw memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan kapasitas throughput, homogenitas aliran, dan kestabilan proses pengumpanan bahan baku. Optimasi pitch screw, sudut heliks, dan rasio kompresi terbukti mampu meningkatkan efisiensi pengumpanan dengan mengurangi slip material dan kehilangan akibat gesekan selama proses ekstrusi. Selain itu, konfigurasi Double Screw menghasilkan distribusi gaya yang lebih merata dibandingkan single screw sehingga mampu meningkatkan kapasitas pengangkutan material dan kualitas proses ekstrusi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, geometri screw Double Screw yang optimal dapat meningkatkan efisiensi pengumpanan, produktivitas mesin, serta kestabilan proses ekstrusi secara keseluruhan. The development of manufacturing technology has required higher efficiency and productivity in extrusion processes, particularly in raw material feeding systems. This study aimed to analyze the effect of Double Screw geometry on the raw material feeding process in an extruder machine and to provide recommendations for a more efficient screw design. A comparative analysis method was used to evaluate screw geometry parameters, including outer diameter, inner diameter, pitch, helix angle, and feeding zone length. The results showed that Double Screw geometry significantly affected feeding efficiency, throughput capacity, flow stability, and material homogeneity. Optimized screw geometry improved feeding performance by reducing material slip and friction losses. The study concluded that Double Screw design provided better feeding capacity and extrusion stability than single screw design. |
