dc.description.abstractDalam prakteknya, sistem energi primer di PLTU dihadapkan pada berbagai permasalahan operasional seperti gangguan peralatan, keterbatasan ketersediaan alat, hambatan aliran material, serta ketidaksesuaian antara perencanaan dan kondisi aktual di lapangan. Permasalahan tersebut dapat berdampak pada kontinuitas suplai bahan bakar ke boiler dan stabilitas operasi pembangkit. Melalui kegiatan Kerja Praktek di PLTU Pangkalan Susu, mahasiswa memperoleh kesempatan untuk mengamati secara langsung kondisi operasional sistem energi primer serta mengaitkannya dengan teori yang telah dipelajari di bangku kuliah, khususnya dalam bidang Teknik Industri. Pendekatan sistem, manajemen operasi, analisis proses, serta evaluasi kinerja sistem menjadi landasan penting dalam memahami bagaimana suatu sistem industri besar seperti PLTU beroperasi secara nyata. In practice, the primary energy system at a coal-fired power plant (PLTU) faces various operational challenges, such as equipment malfunctions, limited equipment availability, material flow bottlenecks, and discrepancies between planning and actual field conditions. These issues can impact the continuity of fuel supply to the boiler and the stability of power plant operations. Through an internship at the Pangkalan Susu Power Plant, students have the opportunity to directly observe the operational conditions of the primary energy system and relate them to the theories studied in their coursework, particularly in the field of Industrial Engineering. A systems approach, operations management, process analysis, and system performance evaluation serve as essential foundations for understanding the real-world operation of a large-scale industrial system like a coal-fired power plant.en_US
