dc.description.abstract | Shallots is a horticulture crop that has a high economic value and is already widely cultivated. The decline in shallots production due to soil degradation resulting from the use of inorganic fertilizers and pesticides is very intensive. Biochar is an organic ameliorant materials to repair degraded land. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the response of the growth and production of shallots in horticultural crop marks soil with biochar application epicarp and shells rubber seeds. This research was conducted at the home screen Growth Centre, KOPERTIS region I SUMUT-ACEH, the street address of the Peratun 1, district Percut Sei Tuan regency Deli Serdang, with altitude of 24 meters above sea level from June to September 2016. The research had been performed using Split Plot Disign, with five replications. The first factor to be tested is the land of the former horticultural crops ie T1: Land of the Village Korpri district Berastagi, regency Karo, and T2: Land of Sukanalu village, district. Barus Jahe, regency Karo. The second factor is tested biochar epicarp and rubber seed shell that B0: Without biochar (NPK 16:16:16 0,15g/kg soil, B1: biochar 2.5g/kg soil, B2: boichar 5g/kg soil. The results demonstrate the use of land former horticultural crops real effect on the parameters plant height and diameter of the bulbs, the best treatment is T1 (land former horticultural crops from the village Sukanalu). Provision of biochar a significant effect on the parameters of the number of leaves, the weight of the wet bulb and dry weight of the bulbs, the best treatment biochar is B1 (2.5 g/kg soil). | en_US |
