Hubungan Antara Dukungan Orang Tua Dengan Motivasi Belajar Siswa SMP Swasta Al-Maksum Desa Cinta Rakyat

Abstract

This study aims to see the relationship between parental support with the motivation of private students in private junior high school Al-Maksum Desa Cinta Rakyat. Subjects in this study were students at SMP Swasta Al-Maksum amounting to 70 people, using random sampling sampling technique. The hypothesis proposed in this research is: "There is a Relationship Between Parent Support with Student Motivation," assuming the higher the Parents Support the higher the motivation of student learning and the lower the support of the parent, the lower the motivation to learn students in SMP Swasta Al- Maksum Desa Cinta Rakyat. The scale is compiled using Likert scale. The data obtained were analyzed using Product Moment correlation atechnique from Pearson. Based on data nalysis, there is a significant positive correlation between parental support with student learning motivation where rxy = 0,593; p = 0.01 <0.05. This means that the higher the support of parents the higher the motivation to learn. Based on this result means the proposed hypothesis is accepted. With the contribution of 35.2% of parental support to motivation to learn, this means there are still 64.8% more than other factors not examined in this study. Students have high parental support with a mean hypothetical value (80) less than the empirical mean (104,33) and the difference exceeds the sd number (8,347) and the student's learning motivation is high with a hypothetical mean (85) smaller than the empirical mean (110.56) and the difference exceeds the sd number (9,088)
