Abstract

English : Museum refers to the building that keeping the treasures of ancient history or past. Museum is important for our place deepen the knowledge of past history, not only a place to keep ancient relics; museum also stores various kinds of living and nonliving objects. Many of people are less interested in visiting museum. Tourists make the museum as an alternative resort. Mostly visitors who visit the museum themselves because of the tour schedule or visits from their institutions or schools scheduled to visit the museum. Asahan district, one of the regencies in Medan - North Sumatra Province, is a growing district that develops in various sectors, especially in education and tourism sectors. It is very less in developing the educational support sector. The absence of museum buildings in Asahan district, as if losing prestige with the presence of shopping centers in Asahan District. The absence of a museum building with education, entertainment, and facilities concepts such as: audio visual room, theater room, workshop, multipurpose room, library, cafeteria and others. It is hoped that Flora and Fauna Museum in Asahan District can support the education aspect as well as a new tourist icon in Asahan District that applies the educative architecture theme.
