Hubungan Antara Kesepian Dengan Perilaku Merokok Pada Perempuan

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between loneliness and smoking behavior in women. Research subjects as 30 women aged 18-24 years, who is an active smoker (not a former smoker), and still dependent parents. Measuring instrument in this study using the scale of loneliness and the scale of smoking behavior. The lonely scale is based on the loneliness aspects expressed by Rubenstein & Shaver (in Miller, 2007) that are desperation, selfdeprecation, impatient boredom, and depression. The scale of smoking behavior is based on the aspects proposed by Tomkins (in Aula, 2010) that are positive affect smokers, negative affect smokers, and addictive smokers. Sampling technique used in this research is nonrandom technique incidental sampling. Based on product moment analysis results obtained correation coefficient rxy value of 0.441 with p < 0.050, which indicates there is a significant positive relationship between loneliness with female smoking behavior in The Cube Club Hotel Danau Toba International Medan. The effective contribution of loneliness variables to smoking behavior by 19,5%. This means there are still 80,5% other factors that influence female smoking behavior outside the lonely variables
