Abstract: | This research is a quantitative research that aims to test and obtain data empirically about the relationship of compensation with work motivation. In line with the theoretical basis, the hypothesis is proposed that there is a positive relationship between compensation and work motivation. Where the higher the level of compensation, then the higher it is employee motivation. This research involves 36 employees as research subjects. Sampling is done by total sampling technique. This research uses likert scale instrument for compensation scale and work motivation scale. The compensation scales are based on the forms according to Micheal and Harold, 1993: material compensation, social compensation, and activity compensation. Job motivation scale is based on aspects according to Hasibuan, 2008: Active or dynamic aspect, and passive or static aspect. Based on the data analysis, the results obtained a positive relationship between compensation with work motivation. This result is evidenced by the correlation coefficient, where rxy = 0.438; p = 0.000 <0.05. The value of coefficient of determination (R square) research with a value of 0.192. It can be interpreted that the compensation variable affect the work motivation by 19.2%. From the calculation of hypothetical mean and empirical mean obtained medium compensation and high work motivation. |
Description: | Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif yang bertujuan untuk menguji dan mendapatkan data secara empiris mengenai hubungan kompensasi dengan motivasi kerja. Sejalan dengan landasan teori, maka diajukan hipotesa yang berbunyi ada hubungan positif antara kompensasi dengan motivasi kerja. Dimana semakin tinggi kompensasi, maka semakin tinggi motivasi kerja karyawan. Penelitan ini melibatkan 36 karyawan sebagai subjek penelitian. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik total sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen skala likert untuk skala kompensasi dan skala motivasi kerja. Skala kompensasi disusun berdasarkan bentuk-bentuk menurut Micheal dan Harold, 1993 yaitu: bentu kompensasi material, kompensasi sosial, dan kompensasi aktivitas. Skala motivasi kerja disusun berdasarkan aspek-aspek menurut Hasibuan, 2008 yaitu: Aspek aktif atau dinamis, dan Aspek pasif atau statis. Berdasarkan analisis data, diperoleh hasil terdapat hubungan positif antara kompensasi dengan motivasi kerja. Hasil ini dibuktikan dengan koefisien korelasi, dimana rxy = 0.438 ; p = 0.000 < 0.05. Nilai koefisien determinasi (R square) penelitian dengan nilai sebesar 0.192. Dapat diartikan bahwa variabel kompensasi mempengaruhi motivasi kerja sebesar 19,2%. Dari hasil perhitungan mean hipotetik dan mean empirik diperoleh kompensasi sedang dan motivasi kerja tinggi. |
