Abstract

Metal Casting is one of the engineering science that progress quite rapidly at this time. For that, it needs to be supported by the development of Metal Casting facility at the Laboratory campus at least equal the industries outside the campus laboratory. Therefore, all the experts in the field of Science Metal Casting should be able to develop the foundry industry in Indonesia is one of the ways is to provide the basics to students of College of Engineering Department of Production. In consideration of the above it is necessary to adequate practice facilities, of which one of the main tools in the casting is Kitchen Crucible. The kitchen is a kitchen crucible used to melt metals is not directly related to the burning material, and after the metal melts, remove from the crucible in the kitchen or take direct molten metal from the furnace. With the kitchen Crucible, it is expected that students can practice the knowledge gained on the bench during the lecture and compare it with the practice of science to further solidify student understanding in the field of Casting Techniques. In consideration of the matter, planned a Crucible with kapasitas150 kg to laboratory needs.
