| Abstract: | The study aimed to determine the ability of activated charcoal from waste leather cassava tuber as an adsorbent to reduce levels of heavy metals (Fe) in Parit Busuk River at Kecamatan Medan Perjuangan North Sumatra. The methode used in this research is descriptive calculate the levels of heavy metals (Fe) contained in waste water of Parit Busuk River. The analysis of heavy metals (Fe) performed quantitatively by spectrofotometric method. The result showed that the addition of activated charcoal consentration of waste cassava tuber skin and long soaking have significant effect on decreasing levels of heavy metals (Fe) in Parit Busuk River. The best treatment at 5 gr of activated charcoal soaked for 45 m in 200 ml water from Parit Busuk River can degrade heavy metals (Fe) on the initial consentration of 1.30 ppm |
| Description: | Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan arang aktif dari limbah kulit ubikayu sebagai adsorben untuk menurunkan kadar Logam Berat Fe dalam air sungai Parit Busuk di Kecamatan Medan Perjuangan Sumatera Utara. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode deskriptif kuantitatif yaitu menghitung kadar Logam Berat Fe yang terkandung dalam air sungai Parit Busuk di Kecamatan Medan Perjuangan Sumatera Utara. Analisis Logam Berat Fe dilakukan secara kuantitatif dengan metode spektrofotometri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan konsentrasi arang aktif dari limbah kulit ubikayu dan lama perendaman berpengaruh nyata terhadap penurunan kadar Logam Berat Fe dalam air sungai Parit Busuk di Kecamatan Medan Perjuangan Sumatera Utara. Perlakuan terbaik pada 5 gr arang aktif yang direndam selama 45 menit dalam 200 ml air dari sungai Parit Busuk dapat menurunkan kadar Logam Berat Fe sebanyak 1.30 ppm dari konsentrasi awal |
