Konsep Diri Remaja Tuna Daksa Akibat Kecelakaan Lalu Lintas

Abstract

The condition of quadriplegic such as broken on the joints the hand or foot, amputation, and the lameness condition caused by traffic accidents, it is very disturbing for the development themselves, psychological will giving a large reasonably effect and very important for the patient (Tarsidi, 2008). Especially when these conditions suffered by a teenager, that would cause the teenagers to face the change of important in they life, such as the changes in the relation with the family, friends, the community, which will affect on changes in the themselves concept. The Self concept is important in the life especially in adolescents. Because teenagers insight about the self concept will determine and directing their behavior in somewhere. If the self concept of teens are positive, so their behavior are positive and vice versa. This research aims to know the self concept in quadriplegic adolescents because of traffic accident, by adopting both qualitative fenomenologic, for the experienced of two quadriplegic teenagers because of traffic accident. The results showed that both respondents form the deifferent self concept according to theaspect and factors affecting their self concept. The results of the research that respondents I is form positive self-concept, which is respondents I do healing effort for therapeutic medical treatment ways and she was always positive thinking with Allah and all of the people responses. Respondents I also never underestimate for others condition worse than herself. While rensponden II is form negative self concept, which respondents II be hypercritic and be pessimistic against with competition, and consider all of the praise are a jokes and a travesty for himself.
