Abstract: Medan Plantation Educational Institution is an institution engaged in the field of plantation. Medan Plantation Education Institution, which is an association owned by BUMN Perkebunan, is an educational institution dedicated to employees of the plantation industry. Medan Plantation Education Institute which core business is to provide training and consulting services in the field of estate agribusiness. In order to discipline their employees, Medan Plantation Education Institute implemented a finger print absence system. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the application of finger print absenteeism in improving the discipline of employees at the Institute of Plantation Education Medan both in terms of attendance, ease and comfort in the process of absenteeism, providing information / report more to the leadership, and application of finger print absences conducted to facilitate the boss to see the level of discipline of attendance and work discipline of each of its employees. The result of the research shows that the application of finger print absence can not improve the work discipline of employees, seen from the achievement of the target after the application of finger print absence has not been achieved, where it is known there are still many employees are not discipline in work like coming late to the office. Adaptive capability, employees already understand the rules of regulation of the use of finger print attendance and able to adjust from manual to absent attendance finger print. Job satisfaction for employees, Institute of Plantation Education Medan has provided comfort and motivation for employees to improve its performance. While the responsibility of the employees of Medan Institute of Plantation Education has not increased yet many employees who come late to the office.
Description: Lembaga Pendidikan Perkebunan Medan merupakan lembaga yang bergerak di bidang perkebunan. Lembaga Pendidikan Perkebunan Medan yang merupakan asosiasi milik BUMN Perkebunan, merupakan sebuah lembaga pendidikan yang diperuntukkan bagi karyawan industri perkebunan. Lembaga Pendidikan Perkebunan Medan yang core bisnisnya adalah menyediakan jasa diklat dan konsultasi di bidang agribisnis perkebunan. Dalam rangka mendisiplinkan pegawainya, Lembaga Pendidikan Perkebunan Medan menerapkan sistem absensi finger print. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan penerapan absensi finger print dalam meningkatkan disiplin kerja pegawai di Lembaga Pendidikan Perkebunan Medan baik dari segi tingkat kehadiran, kemudahan dan kenyamanan dalam proses absensi, memberikan informasi/ laporan selengkapnya kepada pimpinan, serta penerapan absensi finger print dilakukan agar memudahkan atasan untuk melihat tingkat kedisplinan kehadiran dan disiplin kerja dari masing-masing pegawainya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan absensi finger print belum dapat meningkatkan disiplin kerja pegawai, dilihat dari pencapaian target setelah penerapan absensi finger print belum dicapai, dimana diketahui masih banyak pegawai tidak disiplin dalam bekerja seperti datang terlambat ke kantor. Kemampuan adaptasi, pegawai sudah mengerti tata cara peraturan penggunaan absensi finger print dan mampu menyesuaikan diri dari absensi manual ke absensi finger print. Kepuasan kerja bagi pegawai, Lembaga Pendidikan Perkebunan Medan sudah memberikan kenyamanan dan motivasi bagi pegawai untuk meningkatkan kinerjanya. Sedangkan tanggung jawab dari para pegawai Lembaga Pendidikan Perkebunan Medan belum meningkat masih banyak pegawai yang datang terlambat ke kantor.
