Intimacy pada Pasangan Virtual Display of Affection (VDA) Dewasa Awal

Abstract

This study aims to determine the intimacy of couple’s virtual display of affection (VDA) early adult. Intimacy by Wisnuwardhani & Mashoedi (2012) intimacy is the closeness of feelings between two people and the power that binds them together. This research uses qualitative research method, while this research use in-depth interview technique, observation and documentation as data retrieval technique. Subjects in this study amounted to 2 people who have characteristics of early adult women aged 18-30 years, are dating relationships, perform virtual display of affection through verbal and non verbal behavior. The results showed that both respondents had the characteristic of intimacy in the relationship of dating: openness & self-disclosure, responsiveness, communication & positive regard, reassurance & emotional support, touch & affectionate expression and sexuality, in the intimacy component there are similarities in both respondents that is psychological, intellectual, sexual, physical / non sexual, spiritual, aesthetic, social & recreational and temporal intimacy, while the factors that influence the intimacy of Respondent I is the factor of trust and honesty while in Respondent II is a deep knowledge factor about the couple. In both respondents found an equation in the strategy of maintaining intimacy in the relationship through gifts and social appeal and the continuity of verbal intimacy.
