Hubungan antara Self Esteem dengan Kekerasan Dalam Pacaran pada Remaja SMA Satria Dharma Perbaungan

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between self esteem with violence in courtship. The method used in this research is quantitative method. Research subjects are high school adolescent Satria Dharma Perbaungan. the population in this study were 78 adolescents with a sample of 30 adolescents. With the hypothesis there is a positive relationship between self esteem with violence in courtship. It is assumed that the higher the self esteem the lower the violence in courts of the opposite low self esteem then high violence in courtship. Data collection was done by using Likert scale to test the proposed hypothesis done by using Product moment correlation analysis technique. Based on the results of data analysis conducted then obtained the result that there is a relationship of self esteem and violence in courtship. This result is known by looking at the value of rxy = -0,770 with P = 0,00 <0,05 means there is attachment or relationship of self esteem with violence in courtship, so between the two variables there is a causal relationship hence the proposed hypothesis accepted. This means that the proposed hypothesis reads that there is a relationship between self esteem and violence in courtship. The average empirical value of self esteem = 41.87 and hypothetical = 47.5 whereas in violence in courts the average value of empirical = 82.33 and hypothetical = 77.5.
