Kematangan Emosional pada Anak Usia Sekolah yang Diasuh oleh Single Father

Abstract

This study aims to answer the question: How is the emotional maturity of school-age children cared for by single father? What are the factors that affect the emotional maturity of school-age children who are cared for by single father? This study used a qualitative method. Data obtained through interviews and observations in accordance with the questions in the interview guidelines and observation guidelines were added through interviews by each father of the two respondents. Interviews and observations were carried out 3 times for each respondent. Respondents in this study were 8-year-olds who went to school who were female and male. The results of this study are emotional maturity of both respondents influenced by parenting, traumatic, and sex factors. The parenting style applied by the father of each respondent is democratic parenting. The results of this study emotional maturity, the child raised by a single father is said to have entered maturity according to aspects seen in both respondents, namely the attitude to learning, being responsible, and having effective communication. A father's duty to become a single parent will increase to large. In addition to earning a living, a father who becomes a single parent is required to take care of children, take care of household needs and is more important to know the child's growth and development. The father's figure is also able to be warm to his children, unlike the conventional image of a father who is rigid and puts forward the issue of discipline or regularity for children. A father who has a dual role to manage his household is not spared from problems. Starting from external problems related to society and internal problems of their children.
