Abstract: This research is a quantitative research. This study aims to see the relationship of parents' attention with the interest of students in the students of class XI SMKS Budhi Darma. Subjects in this study were students of class XI which amounted to 240 students. The sampling technique used cluster random sampling technique. The data were collected using two scales, namely the scale of parents attention and the student's interest in learning. Data analysis using correlation technique (rxy) equal to 0,533 with p = 0,000 <0,05, meaning there is positive and significant correlation between parent attention with interest of student of class XI, which shows that the higher attention of parent hence the higher student interest . Conversely, the lower the attention of parents, the lower the student's interest in learning. The parents' concern in this study is that students of SMKS Budhi Darma are high because (mean empirical = 85.55.> Hypothetical mean = 78.5 where the difference exceeds SD number = 5,134). And student learning interest is also high, because (mean empirical = 67.05> hypothetical mean = 62.5 where the difference exceeds SD number = 4.670). The coefficient of determination of the correlation of r2 = 0.284 means the attention of parents to give an effective contribution to student learning interest of 28.4%. From the results of this study, the proposed hypothesis is accepted.
Description: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan perhatian orang tua dengan minat belajar siswa pada siswa kelas XI di SMKS Budhi Darma. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI yang berjumlah 240 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan dua skala, yaitu skala perhatian orang tua dan skala minat belajar siswa. Analisis data menggunakan teknik korelasi (rxy) sebesar 0,533 dengan p = 0,000 < 0,05, artinya terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara perhatian orang tua dengan minat belajar siswa kelas XI, yang menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi perhatian orang tua maka semakin tinggi minat belajar siswa. Sebaliknya semakin rendah perhatian orang tua maka semakin rendah minat belajar siswa. Perhatian orang tua dalam penelitian ini siswa SMKS Budhi Darma tergolong tinggi karena (mean empirik = 85,55. > mean hipotetik = 78,5 dimana selisihnya melebihi bilangan SD = 5,134). Dan minat belajar siswa juga tergolong tinggi, karena (mean empirik= 67,05> mean hipotetik = 62,5 dimana selisihnya melebihi bilangan SD = 4,670). Adapun koefisien determinasi dari korelasi tersebut sebesar r2 = 0,284 artinya perhatian orang tua memberikan sumbangan efektif terhadap minat belajar siswa sebesar 28,4%. Dari hasil penelitian ini, maka hipotesis yang diajukan dinyatakan diterima.
