Abstract: This study aims to look at the learning style relationship with learning motivation in class XI students of SMK 1 PERCUT SEI TUAN. Subjects in this study were students of class XI majoring in computer and network engineering (TKJ) totaling 104 students. The sampling technique uses total sampling technique. Data retrieval is done using two scales, namely learning style scale and learning motivation scale. Data analysis using correlation techniques (rxy) of 0.294 with p = 0.000 <0.005, meaning that there is a positive and significant relationship between learning styles with students' learning motivation in class XI, which indicates that the better learning styles of students, the higher the motivation to learn. Conversely, the worse the student's learning style, the lower the motivation to learn. Learning style in this study students of SMK 1 Percut Sei Tuan are high because (empirical mean = 77.> Hypothetical mean = 70 where the difference exceeds SD = 5,954). And the learning motivation is also high, because (the empirical mean = 74.> the hypothetical mean = 65 where the difference exceeds the SD number = 7.303). The coefficient of determination of the correlation is R2 = 0.086 which means learning style gives an effective contribution to learning motivation by 8.6%. The results of this study fit the hypothesis with the results of research in the field.
Description: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan gaya belajar dengan motivasi belajar pada siswa kelas XI SMKN 1 PERCUT SEI TUAN. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI jurusan teknik komputer dan jaringan (TKJ) yang berjumlah 104 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik total sampling. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan dua skala, yaitu skala gaya belajardan skala motivasi belajar. Analisis data menggunakan teknik korelasi (rxy) sebesar 0.294 dengan p = 0,000 < 0,005, artinya terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara gaya belajar dengan motivasi belajarsiswa kelas XI, yang menunjukkan bahwa semakin baik gaya belajar siswa maka semakin tinggi motivasi belajarnya. Sebaliknya semakin buruk gaya belajarsiswa maka semakin rendah motivasi belajarnya. Gaya belajar dalam penelitian ini siswa SMKN 1 Percut Sei Tuan tergolong tinggi karena (mean empirik =77.> mean hipotetik = 70 dimana selisihnya melebihi bilangan SD = 5,954). Dan motivasi belajarnya juga tergolong tinggi, karena (mean empirik= 74.> mean hipotetik = 65 dimana selisihnya melebihi bilangan SD = 7,303). Adapun koefisien determinasi dari korelasi tersebut sebesar R2 = 0,086 artinya gaya belajar memberikan sumbangan efektif terhadap motivasi belajar sebesar 8,6%. Hasil penelitian ini sesuai hipotesis dengan hasil penelitian di lapangan.
