Abstract

This study aims to determine how the relationship between emotional intelligence with quality of life in hemodialysis therapy patients in the unit RS Pabatu. Quality of life is the individual's perception of the position in life and its relationship to the goals, expectations, set standards and attention of a person from the physical, psychological, to social support of one's daily activities, while emotional intelligence is a set of personal, emotional and social abilities Which affects a person's ability to succeed in overcoming environmental demands and pressures. This study was conducted on hemodialysis therapy patients in Pabatu RS Unit with a total sample of 48 patients. Based on the calculation of Product Moment correlation known that there is a positive relationship between emotional intelligence with the quality of life correlation rxy = 0, 292 p = 0.002 < 0.050 from the calculation of hypothetical mean and empirical mean, it is known that emotional intelligence of research sample is high because it has average niali Hypothetical <empirical average value of 13.5 < 24.145 with the difference SB / SD exceeds the number one is 5.701, for the quality of life is high, because it has a hypothetic average value < the average value of empiric that is 17.5 < 23,979 with The difference between SB / SD exceeds the number one is 6,651. Based on the results analysis of data is known that emotional intelligence contributed by 8.5% of the high quality of life in hemodialysis therapy patients in RS Pabatu Unit,thus the hypothesis then be accepted.
