dc.descriptionPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan antara gaya kepemimpinan transformasional dengan disiplin kerja pegawai di Kantor Walikota Binjai. Populasi dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 40 orang pegawai yang bekerja di Kantor Walikota Binjai. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik total sampling. Gaya kepemimpinan transformasional diukur dengan menggunakan Skala Gaya Kepemimpinan Transformasional yang memiliki reliabilitas (a = 0,876), dan disiplin kerja pegawai yang diukur dengan menggunakan Skala Disiplin Kerja Pegawai yang memiliki reliabilitas (a = 0,909). Hasil analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan analisis product moment yang memiliki koefisien korelasi rxy sebesar 0,486 dengan p = 0,000 (p = < 0,05) yang artinya hipotesis diterima, yaitu ada hubungan antara gaya kepemimpinan transformasional terhadap disiplin kerja pegawai. Sumbangan yang diberikan oleh variabel gaya kepemimpinan transformasional dengan disiplin kerja pegawai sebesar 36,8% terhadap disiplin kerja pegawai di Kantor Walikota Binjai sedangkan sisanya 63,2% ditentukan oleh faktor-faktor lain yaitu tujuan dan kemampuan, balas jasa, waskat (pengawasan ketat), sanksi hukuman, ketegasan, dan hubungan kemanusiaan.en_US
dc.description.abstractThe objective of the research is to analyze whether there is a correlation between transformational leadership style and employee discipline at the Office of the Mayor of Binjai. The population is 40 employees who work at the Office of the Mayor. The samples are taken by employing total sampling technique. The transformational leadership style is assessed by using Transformational Leadership Style Measurement Scale with reliability (a = 0,876), and the employee discipline is measured by using Employee Discipline Measurement Scale with reliability (a = 0,909). The results of the data analysis applying product moment method demonstrate that the correlational coefficient rxy is 0,486 with p = 0,000 (p = < 0,05), indicating that the hypothesis is accepted, that there is a correlation between transformational leadership style and employee discipline. Transformatioanal leadership style contributes up to 36,8% to the employee discipline at the Office of the Mayor of Binjai, while the other 63,2% is determined by other factors such as goal and competence, remuneration, strict supervision, sanction, assertiveness, and human relationship.en_US
