Perbedaan Dukungan Orang Tua Ditinjau dari Status Ekonomi pada Mahasiswa Psikologi Universitas Medan Area Stambuk 2016

Abstract

This study was aimed to look at the differences in parental support in terms of economic status of The psychology students in Medan Area University year 2016. The sample in this study was 83 students who had different economic status starting from high and low economic status. In line with the discussion in the theoretical basis, the hypothesis proposed in this study that there was a difference in parental support in terms of economic status. With the higher assumption of the economic status then the lower their parents support and vice versa,with the lower their economic status so the higher their parents' support. This study used a parental support scale consisting of two aspects, namely support for appreciation and information support. The Data collection was done by using a Likert scale. to test the proposed hypothesis was done by using 1- way variant analysis techniques. based on the results of the data analysis performed, the results showed that there were differences in parental support in terms of economic status. This result was known by looking at the value or coefficient of the difference in ANOVA with a coefficient of F = 0.016 with P = 0.001 <0.050. this meant that the proposed hypothesis that says there was a difference in parental support in terms of economic status,was accepted.
