Hubungan Kualitas Persahabatan dengan Forgiveness pada Mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi di Universitas Medan Area

Abstract

This research aims to know and test empirically about Relationship quality companionship with forgiveness on student of Faculty of psychology at the University of Medan Area. This research was compiled based on likert scale method by using a scale of quality companionship, according to Aboud and Mendelson (in Brendgen, et al., 2001) the quality of friendship consists of: Stimulating Companionship, Help, Intimacy, Relaibel Alliance, Self Validation, Emotional Security and scale forgiveness McCollough (2002) forgiveness consists of: Avoidance Motivation, Motivation, Motivation Beneviolence Revenge. After analysis of the data obtained research results: there is a positive relationship between the quality of friendship with forgiveness assuming the higher quality then the higher the teenage friendship forgiveness. These results are known by looking at the value of the coefficient of correlation between the variable (rxy) = 0.421 Criteria and P = 0.002 < 0.010. This means the significance value obtained less than 0.010. This proves that the researchers hypothesis is accepted assuming the higher quality will be higher then friendship forgiveness. Otherwise, once the lower quality companionship then getting lower also forgiveness.
