Hubungan antara Empati dengan Perilaku Altruistik pada Perawat di RS. Cut Meutia Langsa

Abstract

This study aims to look at the correlation between empathy and altruistic behavior in nurses at the Cut Meutia Langsa Hospital. The sample in this study were 40 nurses who worked at Cut meutia Hospital in Langsa. In line with the discussion in the theoretical basis, the hypothesis proposed in this study is that there is an empathy correlation with altruistic behavior. Assuming that the higher the empathy of the nurse, the higher the altruistic behavior of the nurse, on the contrary if the lower the empathy of the nurse, the lower the altruistic behavior of the nurse will be. Data collection is done using a Likert scale. The analysis technique used is Product Moment correlation. Based on the results of the analysis obtained (1) there is a significant positive relationship between empathy and altruistic behavior, where rxy = 0.819 with p = 0.000 <0.050. This means that the higher the empathy, the higher the altruistic behavior, on the contrary the lower the empathy, the lower the altruistic behavior. (2) the relationship between empathy and altruistic behavior = 0.671. This shows that the empathy factor is 67.1% in influencing altruistic behavior. (3) mean value (empirical mean = 92.9)> (hypothetical mean = 72.5) with a difference that exceeds the SD or SB value of 5.751, then for altruistic behavior variables, it is known that the nurses at Cut meutia Langsa Hospital has a high altruistic behavior, because the average value (empirical mean = 119.7)> (mean hypothetical hypothetical = 95) with a difference that exceeds the SD or SB value of 10.141. Thus there is a significant correlation between empathy with altruistic behavior of nurses at Cut Meutia Langsa Hospital.
