Perbedaan Perilaku Merokok Ditinjau dari Status Sekolah antara Sekolah Menengah Pertama dan Madrasah Tsanawiyah

Abstract

In adolescence (puberty) students experience a feeling of wanting to experiment and having a big curiosity of everything, as well as cigarettes. This study aims to determine the differences in smoking behavior in terms of school status between junior high schools and Madrasah Tsanawiyah. The hypothesis proposed was a difference in smoking behavior between junior high schools and Madrasah Tsanawiyah. The population in the study were male students of grade IX junior high school and male students of class IX Madrasah Tsanawiyah, amounting to 248 people. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, the number of samples in this study were 60 students. Data collection techniques were used a smoking behavior scale. Data analysis techniques in this study using the analysis of Independent sample t-test. Based on the results of data analysis, there were differences in smoking behavior between junior high schools and Madrasah Tsanawiyah with t count> t table (amounting to 6.994> 2.001). This proves the research hypothesis is accepted.
