Hubungan antara Optimisme dengan Adversity Qoutient pada Mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Medan Area yang Bekerja

Abstract

The objective of this study is to find the correlation between optimism with adversity qoutient for students who worked of faculty psychology university medan area . The sample in this study were 55 psychology working students. The sampling technique using purposive sampling. Data retrieval is done using two scales, namely optimism scale and adversity qoutient. Data analysis using correlation rxy technique of 0.902 with p=0.01<0.010, meaning that there is a significant positive relationship between optimism with adversity qoutient on students, which indicates that the higher the optimism, the higher the adversity qoutient and vice versa the lower the optimism, the more low adversity qoutient student. Student optimism is classified as very high because the empirical mean = 91.836> hypothetical mean=90 where the difference exceeds SD=5.890). And adversity qoutient is also relatively high, because (empirical mean=81.872> mean hypothetical=80 where the difference exceeds SD number=5.751). The coefficient of determination of the correlation is as effective as R2 = 0.814, which means that optimism contributes to the effective adversity of qoutient by 90.2%. The results of this study fit the hypothesis with the results of research in the field.
