Hubungan Harga Diri dengan Motivasi Belajar Siswa SMA Bina Bersaudara Medan

Abstract

This research was aimed to observe the relationship of self esteem and learning motivation of SMA Bina Bersaudara students. Learning motivation is the whole locomotive from within the students which causing the learning activity, ensure the sustainability of learning activity and direct the learning activity, thus the expected objective of the learning subjects can be obtained. The research hypothesis suspects that there is a relationship between self esteem and learning motivation of SMA Bina Bersaudara Medan. The sample of this research is 100 students. Data gathering was using random sampling technique. The questionnaire was using Likert Scale. Gathered data was analyzed using Pearson Moment Correlation. The result of the research was as follows; ,rxy = 0.482 + r2 = 23.3% with p = 0,000 < 0,050. For self esteem, hypothetic mean was 85 and empiric mean was 104.24, with SD 11.029, thus it is categorized high. For learning motivation, hypothetic mean was 97.5 and empiric mean was 118.73, with SD 14.471, thus it is also categorized high. Based on the result of the research, the effective contribution of X to Y was 23.3% and was accepted.
