dc.descriptionPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara self-efficacy dengan problem solving dalam mengerjakan tugas akhir mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Medan Area. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian korelasi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi yang sedang mengerjakan tugas akhir dan telah mengikuti seminar proposal. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 40 orang, menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan skala self efficacy dan skala problem solving. Uji validitas menggunakan uji validitas isi (expert judgement). Uji reliabilitas menggunakan Alpha Cronbach yang menghasilkan indeks reliabilitas sebesar 0,905. Uji korelasi butir total digunakan untuk menentukan hubungan antara kedua variabel yaitu self-efficacy dan problem solving diperoleh melalui perhitungan dengan korelasi product moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara self-efficacy dengan problem solving dalam mengerjakan tugas akhir mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Medan Area. Hal ini berdasarkan hasil perhitungan korelasi r Product Moment, dimana rxy = 0,745 dengan signifikan p = 0.000 < 0,050. Hasil ini menunjukkan hipotesa yang diajukan diterima. Artinya semakin baik self-efficacy maka problem solving semakin tinggi. Adapun sumbangan efektif dari self-efficacy mempengaruhi problem solving sebesar 55,6 %.en_US
dc.description.abstractThis study was to know the relationship between self efficacy and problem solving in doing thesis students faculty of Psychology Universitas Medan Area. The research approach used is a quantitative approach and its nature is correlation research. The population in this study were psychology students who were working on their thesis and had participated in a proposal seminar. Eksperiment subject are 40 students, using simple random sampling technique. Data retrieval is done with self efficacy scale and problem solvin g scale. Validity test using content validity test (Expert judgment). Reliability testing using alpha cronbach which produces a reliability index of 0,905. Total item correlation test is used to determine the relationship between the two variables, namely self efficacy and problem solving obtained through the calculation with product moment correlation. The results showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between self-efficacy and problem solving in working on the final project of the students of the Faculty of Psychology, University of Medan Area. This is based on the calculation of the Product Moment r correlation, where rxy = 0.745 with a significant p = 0.000 <0.050. This result shows that the hypothesis proposed is accepted. This means that the better the self-efficacy, the higher the problem solving. The effective contribution of self-efficacy affects problem solving by 55.6%.en_US
