Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between family support and self confidence in overseas students in the Faculty of Psychology, University of Medan Area, the formulation of the problem posed is whether there is a relationship between family support and self-confidence in migrant students at the Medan Area Psychology Faculty. This study aims to empirically examine the relationship of family support with confidence in migratory children in the Faculty of Psychology, University of Medan Area. The sample in this study amounted to 100 students. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling technique. Data analysis method uses Pearson product moment. The data collection model uses a scale, namely the scale of family support and the scale of self-confidence. The data analysis method used is the correlational method. The results showed that there was a positive relationship between family support and self-confidence seen from the coefficient (Rxy) = 0.731 with p = 0.000 <0.050, meaning that there was a positive relationship with family support, the more positive family support, the higher the 2017 Faculty of Student confidence University of Medan Area Psychology, contributing family support for self confidence by 53.5%.
