Along with that, public interest in reading is getting lower and lower. This is because the library facilities are not adequate as information, and the tendency of buildings that do not attract attention. Medan, which is the capital of North Sumatra, has the potential to be used as a library. This is because the data in the Medan City Public Library has increased. However, facilities that are less accommodating and the tendency of the library is only a place of storage, until the building conditions are less attractive. Therefore the design of the Public Library in Medan City which is in the area of Jalan Jamin Ginting can be used as a library that can be an information center. Buildings that apply the theme Metaphor can attract public attention to visit.
