This research aims to determine the relationship between authoritative parenting and internal locus of control with the psychological well-being of students in senior high school students of SMA Negeri 12 Medan. The research method uses quantitative research. The population of this research are 664 students, with the total sample of 150 students. The sampling technique uses simple random sampling. Data collection uses authoritative parenting scale measurement, locus of control scale and psychological well-being scale. The data analysis technique using multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that there was a positive significant relationship between authoritative parenting and psychological well-being with a correlation coefficient (R) = 0.515; sig <0.05, the hypothesis is accepted with an effective contribution of 26.6%. There is a positive significant relationship between internal locus of control and psychological well-being with a correlation coefficient (R) = 0.289; sig <0.05, the hypothesis is accepted with an effective contribution of 8.3%. There was a significant positive relationship between authoritative parenting and internal locus of control with psychological well-being with a correlation coefficient (R) = 0.554; sig <0.05, the hypothesis is accepted by the effective contribution of the two independent variables on the dependent variable by 30.7%. This means that there is an influence of other factors of 69.3% on psychological well-being. |
