This research examines the relationship between self-control and parents’ expectations with cheating behaviour towards SMA Sinar Husni students. This research uses method of quantitative research with a correlational approach. The analytical technique in this research is multiple regression. The population in this research was determined by screening. Whilst the sample in this research amounted to 109 students, and was conducted by applying Total Sampling technique. The research used instruments of scale of self-control, parental expectations, and cheating behavior. The results show: a) there was a significant negative relationship between control and cheating behavior, which was indicated by the correlation coefficient (rx1y) = - 0.299; p = 0.002 < 0.05; and effective contribution weight of 9%. b) there was a significant positive relationship between parental expectations and cheating behavior, where the correlation coefficient value (rx2y) = 0.206; p = 0.031 < 0.05; effective contribution weight of 4.3%. c) there was a significant relationship between self-control and parental expectations with cheating behavior, which was indicated by the correlation coefficient (R) = - 0.353; p = - 0.001 < 0.05; Freg = 7,526. By knowing this result it can be concluded that self-control variables and parental expectations are jointly related to cheating behavior variables. Thus it is stated that the hypothesis proposed in this study is declared acceptable. |
