Hubungan Empati dan Dukungan Sosial Teman Sebaya dengan Komunikasi Interpersonal Pada Siswa Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) Binjai

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan empati dan dukungan sosial teman sebaya dengan komunikasi interpersonal pada siswa Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) Binjai. Pendekatan pada penelitian ini adalah pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian korelasi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X dan XI MAN Binjai berjumlah 592 siswa. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 85 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah simple random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan tiga skala yang terdiri dari skala empati, skala dukungan sosial teman sebaya dan skala komunikasi interpersonal. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan untuk menjawab hipotesis penelitian ini adalah regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan ada hubungan positif yang signifikan antara empati dan dukungan sosial teman sebaya dengan komunikasi interpersonal dibuktikan dengan koefisien Rx1.2y= 0.733 dan p = 0,000 (p< 0.05). Persentase sumbangan efektif dari kedua variabel bebas empati dan dukungan sosial teman sebaya dengan komunikasi interpersonal adalah sebesar 53.7%. Dari hasil ini diketahui bahwa masih terdapat 46.3% sumbangan dari faktor lain yang tidak dibahas dalam penelitian ini. Dari hasil perhitungan mean hipotetik dan mean empirik diperoleh empati dan dukungan sosial teman sebaya dan komunikasi interpersonal berada pada kategori tinggi. This study aims to find out the corelation betweenempathy and peer social support with interpersonal communication on studentsof State Islamic Senior High School of Binjai. Ituses quantitative approach with a correlation research type. The subjects of this study are students of State Islamic Senior High School of Binjai in Grade X and XI as much as 592 students. Then, by employing Random Sampling technique, about 85students are selected as the sample. Furthermore, as the data collection method, there were three variables used in this study, namely scales of empathy, peer social support, and interpersonal communication. Then, it utilized the multiple regressions as the data analyzing technique to find out the hypothesis answer of this study. Moreover, the result shows that there was a significant of positive relationship between empathy and peer social support by interpersonal communication. This result is proved by the coefficient of 𝑅𝑅𝑅𝑅1.2𝑦𝑦 = 0,733 and p = 0,000 (p< 0,05). The percentage of effective contribution from free variables empathy and peer social support by interpersonal communication is as much as 53,7%. The result shows that the other 46,3% might be contributed by the other elements which are not investigated in the study.Thus, from the calculation of hypothetical mean and empirical mean, it is gained that the empathy and peer social support with interpersonal communication are in the high category
