Abstract: | Upacara adat simalungun merupakan suatu upacara yang dilakukan secara turun-temurun oleh masyarakat. Upacara memuat berbagai ritual-ritual yang didalamnya terdapat berbagai macam jenis tumbuhan digunakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis tumbuhan pangan, jenis makanan/masakan yang disajikan dalam upacara pernikahan etnis Simalungun serta maknanya. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskripstif kualitatif dengan metode wawancara dan pemilihan informan dengan cara purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian diperoleh 24 jenis dari 14 famili tumbuhan yang digunakan dalam upacara pernikahan etnis Simalungun. Bagian tumbuhan yang digunakan adalah buah (25%), umbi (21%), biji (17%), rimpang (12,5%), daun (12,5%), batang (8%) dan bunga (4%). Dari jenis tumbuhan yang digunakan diperoleh beberapa makanan/masakan yang selalu disajikan pada saat upacara pernikahan yaitu masakan khas Simalungun seperti dayok nabinatur dan ikan mas arsik. Simalungun traditional ceremony is ceremony that is carried out from generation to generation by the community. The ceremony contains various rituals in which various types of plants are used. This study aims to determine the types of food plants, the types of food/cooking served in Simalungun ethnic wedding ceremonie and their meanings. The type of research used is aqualitative descriptive method with interviews and selection of informants by means of purposive sampling. The result showed that 24 species from plant families were used in Simalungun ethnic weddung ceremonies. The parts of the plants used were fruit (25%), tubers (21%), stems (17%), rhizomes (12,5%), seeds (12,5%), leaves (8%) and interest (4%). From types of plants used, several foods are obtained which are always served during wedding ceremoniens, namely Simalungunspecialties such as dayok nabinatur and arsik mas arsik. |
